I was pleasantly surprised when I received this guide. It is light but sturdy and well made. I set it up for macro photography of very small rocks, minerals and gems. I attached a camera to the slide to be able to zoom in or out depending on the zoom/enlargement desired. The carriage is very smooth-running and the grooved rails are adjustable, allowing you to fine-tune how the carriage conforms to the rails. I am in the process of adjusting the X, Y focus axis on the other end to use as a platform for the various subjects I will be photographing. I look forward to getting this working.
