Excellent camera; I've been making use of it for the past two months. I used a lens that had a built-in stabilizer called VR, so the shots turned out wonderful, and the macro option is fantastic. The battery will last all day (or even longer); at first, I was considering purchasing a spare battery, but when I went and clicked all day and it did not become discharged, the necessity for this gone, and the charge was only going to take another 1.5 hours to reach full! In the hands it fits nicely, making it easy and simple to snap images; quick, there are pre-set shooting modes (portrait, landscape, etc.), as well as creative options and totally manual settings. It has a sharp and clear focus. The "A" mode is where I spend most of my time shooting, as I've found that the "auto" option does not always provide photographs of a high enough quality. The Canon 550 is the only DSLR that can compete with it in terms of performance, but the price of the Canon 550 is significantly higher than that of this model. In general, this is the best DSLR available for the entry level. As soon as possible, go out and get a standard glass filter to put on the lens; doing so will prevent scratches. And just so you know, the video records normally. The other thing to keep in mind, however, is that if you are seriously interested in video filming, then of course the quality is "zero" for you. Bottom line: take it without even thinking about it, and over time, if you get carried away with it, you will improve with other lenses, such as in addition to that, I already want to acquire a 55-200.))))
