They work great if you use them right. This is a quick guide for use with a t-shirt and/or fleece material. I had a t-shirt quilt that I wanted to hang on the wall. The cutting tool did not cut through the material. The trick is to use a cutting tool and simply make an indentation where you want the bushing to be. Using a small pair of sharp scissors (like those used to cut bandages or thread), poke a hole in the center and then make four small cuts INSIDE the circle - this gives the fabric to hold the sleeve. The larger half of the eyelet should be on the side of the fabric that is facing out as this gives a cleaner look. Put it through the hole and gently pull the fabric around the eyelet (but don't tear it). Place the smaller one on the opposite side and then place the larger bushing over the small pieces of metal. Stick an anvil (or whatever it's called) in the hole, hit it 5 or 6 times with a hammer, and voila! The photos show every step of the process I did. It turned out amazing!
