My Bose Companion 20 speaker decided to fire me last week which prompted me to start looking for new speakers. I'm one of those people with sensitive ears that don't pick up tinny sounds very well. I searched and searched until I finally decided on these columns. I'll admit I was a little influenced by the style (love how they look on my desk!) but overall I was won over by the description and other reviews. I installed it five days ago and immediately ordered the right subwoofer, not because there would be nothing wrong without it, but because I liked the sound so much that I wanted to devote myself to the system. Oh, and they're superior to those Bose speakers. The Bose sound was pretty dirty in comparison. What makes you so special to me? These little guys sound fantastic! It's clean, crisp and precise. At the same time, there's no hiss or other background noise to affect its clarity, which could be partly due to its USB connection to my computer. I find that having a subwoofer complements the sound perfectly, but it's not really necessary. Although I would like good and high bass, for some reason my neighbors object! However, I have tested these speakers both loud and quiet and both are excellent. In short, I'm very happy with my purchase, enough to buy a subwoofer right away that completely blew my budget, but my ears and everything else are so happy!
