I live in a neighborhood with several cats. Especially carefree, selfish people who let their pets roam the neighborhood to defecate on someone else's territory. I've had a constant problem with cats using my vegetable garden as a litter box (biting a ripe, juicy tomato gives you a pause). This barbed strip (which looks like a simplified medieval torture device) effectively kept the cats out of my yard. It's not big enough to cover my entire yard (raised) so I bought a few items. It is easy to unfold and trim with scissors; and pruning around plants. The spikes don't feel "too" pointy or sharp, so no injuries (not their fault anyway). They really were too small to be effective in a loose soil garden. I assume they will be working with hard packed ground/soil. I just used a couple of tent poles I had. Item came rolled up so you really need something to pin it up; Otherwise it would curl up by itself. You could probably do the opposite and leave it on for a while, but I needed to get it working asap.
