Looks really nice in my bedroom for storing remote controls, electronic tablets, glasses etc. Well made and seems durable for many openings and closings.

Although very light, the large chest looks fine, but the small one arrived with a broken hinge, lost/rusted screws and chipped wood. i give it back Nobody has to pay their money to end up with a defective product.

I separated a couple and they are just as elegant separated as together in the old world. I placed them with old style candle holders. Very good! I would only use it for demonstration, but you could store a few things in it. Each is large enough to hold quite a bit.

Nice design but poor build quality. Both boxes had oil stains. The outsides are covered with a nice silky fabric but damaged by stains from wood varnish or glue etc. The stains actually transfer to the paper the box was wrapped in. Wood is not recommended.

These are cool decorative items. I use the smaller one to store recipes. I have a collection of recipe books in my breakfast nook and they add a very pretty accent to the bookshelves. They are very strong and I like that the clasps are really functional. They go well with my Tuscan cuisine.

I can't believe that not only did I miss an item, but that two different boxes weren't even the same! I'm sure if it were the boxes in the picture I would probably love this item as I can see how beautiful it can be. I just can't store broken and defective boxes that don't match each other or the picture in the online sales message! Sad!

Love these boxes! Unfortunately they had quite a few damaged parts/spots so I had to send them back for replacement. I hope the second set has better quality! The shipping box was damaged and I heard objects rattling; The bubble wrap was applied back to front, but the damage was attributed to the craftsmanship as the nails went through the crates and split some of the wood in multiple places. Very beautiful and elegant. As many other reviews have said, these items are very delicate and fragile. They can be used to store items, but I wouldn't recommend putting anything heavy in these boxes or carrying the boxes by the handles. They are beautiful to look at and very carefully detailed despite their fragility. I intend to use them for storing greeting cards and other small, lightweight souvenirs.
