This is an UPDATED REVIEW of the ANNKE 32 Channel Hybrid DVR/NVR System. April 17, 2020 I originally gave this product 3 stars out of 5 due to a bug believing that this product has a wired PTZ function (RS 485 port) which appeared to be present in the product photos but is actually blocked and was not installed as a feature. Devices. I took it for granted that most modern DVR systems have an RS 485 port for wired PTZ control. My other two systems worked. The reason I bought this unit was to expand my system and have something that can also accommodate WiFi cameras. My current system only allows 8 wired and 8 WiFi cameras while I have 15 wired and 12 WiFi cameras. To my surprise, ANNKE support contacted me and apologized for the error, which was more my fault for not doing more "homework" on product specs. .ANNKE is very customer friendly and although it was a mistake on my part, they offered to send me 2 cameras (2 megapixels each) for free to balance the 2 wired PTZ cameras I have on my current system. I have a separate PTZ controller that I could use, but I can't remotely control wired PTZ cameras from the app when I'm not on the farm. However, the device supports Wi-Fi PTZ cameras, which is very helpful. the furthest areas I need to control on the farm. Overall, while the misunderstanding about wired PTZ support was a disappointment, ANNKE's support really shines and their commitment to keeping the customer happy really showed. I'm more than happy to say that this unit has been a great addition to my operation and thanks to that I've changed my rating from 3 stars to a solid 5 stars. Thanks again to the ANNKE support staff who contacted me via the link. to my initial review and did everything possible to make me a happy, satisfied customer. I highly recommend this hybrid 32 channel DVR/NVR system. I'll leave my first review below for others to see. an old DVR that didn't support wired and WiFi IP cameras at the same time. I like the split channel feature so I can use 16 wired and 18 WiFi IP cameras. You can also install 2 HHDs for more storage capacity. But this device doesn't support wired PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras which I need. The photos show the RS-485 connector for PTZ, but it turned out to have a connector that I thought was meant to protect the connector. There is no connector on the motherboard, and the connector is actually covered with a plastic insert. Since there are many types of PTZ cameras, I'm surprised that this device doesn't support cables. All of my last 3 systems had PTZ support and it seems strange that this unit isn't equipped for it. Also, there is no record of this DVR/NVR model or type on the ANNKE website and in store and there does not appear to be any product support.
