I began to have moderate swelling in my feet (only) during the day and was looking for a low-cut compression sock. I suspect that a low-cut sock never will prevent swelling as well as the full-length version, but I figured these were worth a try. Also, I was a competitive fencer for about 40 yr, and seeing fencers in marketing materials for these socks closed the deal for me. I have been pleased with the results. I wear these under other socks (including dress socks), which works fine. They are comfortable and control swelling in my case. I was surprised not to find instructions for care included with the socks. I contacted the company - These can be machine washed (warm, mild detergent, no bleach, no fabric softener) but should be air dried. Note to Newzill: you insert a card in each package anyway, so why not print basic care instructions on the back of the card?
