Polymer clay that is not so easy to get imprints.

I bought this set for the child I look after as a present for his mother on Mother's Day. I liked that it was enough to make 2 keepsakes and leave a footprint for his mom and a handprint for his dad as a Father's Day gift. I have never seen or worked with this type of "clay" and am grateful that I carefully read the instructions first. I could never knead the material without first heating it in the microwave. I could hardly pierce it with a knife to cut it in half! After heating for about 10 seconds, it became quite malleable. I managed to knead it into a ball and roll it out. Getting a real track wasn't that easy. I wasn't sure what to expect but tried to rewind the footage 3 or 4 times before I got a decent print. I felt like I was hurting this poor kid with as much pressure as I should! I originally intended to use Stamp and put his name and date in it, but I was too scared I would ruin everything and have to start all over again, so I gave up on that idea. His foot is big enough that it would be difficult to pick up those things and it would still look pretty. I recommend using this kit for small babies as my little boy is only 5 months old but the circle cut out is too small to get any trace of him. I did the trace yesterday and it takes 30 hours to dry on wax paper. I'm glad I read some of the reviews because I foolishly expected it to be heavier and thought something was wrong because it doesn't get heavier at all. It's like thick craft foam, which I think is the desired end result. Pressing with your finger leaves no traces. I read in a review that you know how to properly dry when this happens. I'm grateful someone mentioned this and I think the instructions should have mentioned that as well.

Pros

Cons
