Shacke Pak vs eBags! Quality construction, great design, EXCELLENT ZIPPER. Made me a BELIEVER in PACKCUBE!

Advantages: - High quality workmanship - Excellent zipper quality and durability - Strong stitching - Lightweight - Open mesh design allows you to easily see contents and compresses - Attractive yet simple colors and design - Comfortable zippers - Zipper closures - Comes with carry case for all packing cubes which doubles as a travel laundry bag - 4 packing cubes for the price of many competitors with 3 - Excellent customer service. Cons: - Nothing special at the moment, but after a few months I'm starting to notice that some of the seams seem to be stretched too much and I'm worried they might rip after a while - Plastic zipper with used spring cord on the pocket that carries all the packing cubes (I used the bag as a "dirty bag") broke after a month Personal experience: Ask me a year ago if I would ever have packing cubes and I would have laughed at you and realized that's how it is illogical to try to save space for packing by using packing cubes that force the shape of a cube. Now I'm a believer! Packing cubes forever changed the way I pack. Not only does it organize everything I pack (underwear, socks, pajamas in one, shirts and pants in another, etc.), squeeze everything into a packing cube and then lock it. Packing cubes don't noticeably weigh down your luggage because and for longer trips I just take my packing cubes out of my travel bag/suitcase and they serve as storage boxes for all my travel gear. I think Shacke Pak is generally superior to other brands. One packing cube in particular I received had a problem with the zipper causing the zipper's grip to slip broke prematurely. I contacted Shacke Pak and support sent me a replacement packing cube straight away with no fuss. I am very happy with the customer service and it has given me some confidence that they will continue to look after their customers in the future. **Update: I've also got two sets of eBags Packing Cubes (you can read my other reviews) and had the opportunity to directly compare them to the Shacke Pak. To be honest, both brands make exceptional packing cubes and you won't be disappointed either way. But to be selective, I'll share some of my observations: - Shacke Pak uses a matte material versus eBags' shinier honeycomb design. The Shacke Pak material has a slight stretch while the eBags material has almost no stretch. As a result, the material eBags uses seems a little more durable, but the Shacke Pak looks a little more premium. Shacke Pak uses hidden stitching under the zippers, while eBags uses double stitching in most places. After a year of owning Shacke Pak packing cubes, I've noticed that the hidden stitching under the zipper stretches a bit more and actually becomes visible when I pack the cubes tight. This worries me a little and makes me question the durability, while the double stitched design of the eBags seems to stay strong no matter how tightly I pack the cubes. Shacke Pak packing cubes are .75-1 inch deep, can pack more - The zipper handle (not the zipper itself) on one of my Shacke Pak packing cubes fell off after a month. I contacted Shacke Pak and they immediately sent me a brand new packing cube. Shacke Pak has demonstrated excellent customer service, but at the same time I'm a little concerned that something like this happened so quickly. Since then I have had no problems with two sets of Shacke Pak packing cubes. I have had no issues with eBags in terms of zippers or zipper pulls in the 6 months that I have owned them. Shacke Pak Packing Cubes gives you 4 for the price of about 3 from eBags. In addition, the Shacke Pak comes with a bag with packing cubes, which can be conveniently used as a dirty laundry bag when travelling. You seem to get a little more bang for your buck with the Shacke Pak - The quality of the zip is excellent on both as they both use YKK zips - Overall: you can't go wrong with either and each brand has a slight advantage over the other in several areas . I personally find eBags to be a little more durable, but Shacke Pak is a little more attractive and offers a little more bang for the buck. Conclusion: If you are looking for a high-quality and durable travel pack set, you really can't go wrong with the Shacke Pak Set. The price is reasonable and you get 4 pack cubes for the price most competitors charge for 3. I haven't had any real issues with quality or durability (I travel and use them a lot but will update my review in the future) and Shacke Pak has already proven to me that they have great customer service. I also think the Shacke Pak package has one of the most stylish designs out there. **I've included a picture of one of my packing cubes when tightly packed, showing what I mean by stretched hidden seams. and visible. That worries me a little.
