This is a medium weight cotton, not one of those flimsy one season wonders; it should last for years. It was a bit stiff when first opened but softened up after first wash. I washed in cold water then tumbled in dryer on air for a few minutes before hanging to dry. I ordered this for my super cute 8 week old pitbull puppy so we can start to work on harness training as she grows. I ordered size small and it fits her well but she will outgrow it pretty fast. I think I could of went with a medium. Overall it is super cute and works well.
