The material is soft. The size is just right (not too big, not too small). If you're carrying a lot of items and your bag lands on the "heavier" side, I think the straps will break and not carry it properly. The price doesn't bite, but choose the color carefully! I ordered twice and neither color matched my expectation in the picture. If color isn't a major concern, then don't be shy. Otherwise I would switch to something else.
