Review on 🚗 Tripp Lite PV200CUSB Car Power Inverter: 200W Cup Holder Design, 2 Outlets & 2 USB Ports, Gray by Darryl Jennings

I have used TrippLite products for many years including another 150w inverter which I have owned for almost 10 years and use to power my laptop when traveling. During Texas Snowmageddon I realized I had to replace it. Well I bought this one. Arrived today. I went to the car with a laptop and a power adapter. instructions followed. Step 1 Connect the inverter. - Turn on CheckStep 2. - Check Never made it to step 3. Pop and smoke came out of the fan vent. The fuse remained intact. Dangerous. To be clear, I didn't even plug in the power cord or charge the device. . I wonder how it passed quality control. Has it been quality checked at all? Do I change brands? More and more are going to one place so I'm not sure it's going to make a difference.
