Review on πŸ’‘ TII-210 Coaxial Broadband In-Line Surge Suppressor: Reliable Protection for Your Network by Tutan Dennard

Great product but tricky to connect the ground wire

Pros: Inexpensive No speed loss at 50MB/s (using Testmy.net) Works great in theory Ready to install Cons: Difficult to connect the ground wire Will free space behind the modem with direct installation. Today, most surges that damage computer hardware are due to the network connection (Ethernet cables) and not the power cables, as these are often properly shielded. Therefore, this product is great if you want to protect all your gear. I installed it on the coax coming into the house, right in front of the modem, protecting everything from the back. My only problem is that my modem isn't grounded and this device doesn't draw power but dissipates it, so technically I'm not doing much at all until I connect this device to a ground wire, which I will be doing soon. It's not necessarily difficult. This can be as simple as connecting a wire from the chassis of some grounded equipment (computer cases, hi-fi cases, etc.) to a muffler (just wrap it around after you've sanded the paint). Another problem is that there is a hard tube protruding from the back of your modem, which can be uncomfortable, but that's up to you. Those minor issues aside, this is a great product and I would recommend it. If this was helpful, please click Yes. below if you sec. Anyway, thanks for reading and have a nice day.
