Review on Hysure Electric Dehumidifier Portable Moisture by John Fenton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bright green LED that illuminates the entire unit

At best, this unit did a good job of removing moisture. The area of my bedroom is 143 square meters. ft. It had almost no effect on humidity. I bought it to replace a smaller and even less useful dehumidifier. This one also looked like I could lightly cover the green LED on the power button with tape (not everything needs to have a light!). I was wrong. The power button LED is so incredibly bright and the white plastic is so thin that *the whole device* glows green. Closing the power switch is completely pointless. I used it for about a week, I had a t-shirt covering the top quarter of the device and it was still bright enough to make it difficult to fall asleep. I have a humidity sensor in my bedroom as I recently discovered mold. Running this device 24/7 made little difference. I still went above 60% humidity at least once a day. When my air conditioner was turned off, the temperature rose to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and still barely pulled any moisture out of the air. My landlords recently bought me a giant dehumidifier (rated for 2,500 square feet in a 547 square foot apartment). It holds about 2 gallons of water and I have to change it twice a day. I emptied this pad about 3 times in the two weeks I owe it, it was never more than 1/4 full. Lesson over here, buy if you need a dehumidifier. This giant makes exponentially more than 3 small devices running at the same time and that's only $40 more than 3 devices together (RevainBasics).
