i chose this mat for my standing desk - it's a perfect fit for the area - and it's a very close match the flooring, which is what i wanted - i have enough going on in this space, adding another color on the floor was not my intention. it's extremely think and cushy! i had been trying to just switch shoes and was still having some hip and knee soreness after standing all day - this has made a great deal of difference in that experience. the bottom does have a non-skid surface but not so much that it becomes difficult to move. sometimes i want to pull my underdesk treadmill over and have to adjust it slightly and it's no so non-skid that i have to like rip it off the floor, it does slide with a little push but will also stay put when needed. this is an absolute perfect addition to my standing desk for comfort while trying to create a healthier workspace.
