A device I plugged into this outlet randomly turned off a few weeks after plugging in the cord . Shortly after, I checked the socket and found that the plastic around the pin end had melted slightly but noticeably. I was still supplied with cord so I'm glad it showed signs of a problem rather than illuminating the dresser which was in front of the outlet. I've never had a problem with this jack (it was a different cable/brand in the other plug of the same jack, no problem). It was a good cable with great reviews so I'm beyond shocked with the outcome.
