When the bag arrived I was a little disappointed with the size. It turned out to be smaller than I expected and what I needed it for. Definitely it can't be used for kids in middle school or high school. First, the material of the bag wouldn't support the weight of the books and they wouldn't fit inside. I ordered two of these bags, they were smooth and suitable for boys. I ended up gifting one to my nephew who was in elementary school. He liked it, thought he was a big boy like his cousins. The bag actually lasted an entire school year with no frayed holes that you get from tossing or ripping it. Overall it remained in excellent condition and could be used for another year. The other bag ended up being used as a travel bag etc. To this day (3 years later) we still have it and it is in good condition. Price! But it's definitely for little kids who don't have to carry as much.
