Here's a pretty simple breakdown

Here's a pretty simple breakdown. The fan works. The build quality appears to be better than the original Apple designed fan that came with my mid 2009 MacBook Pro. After installing the fan, I noticed an unusual noise and was able to fix the problem by properly aligning the fan and tightening the adjacent screws. The fan was fantastic. However, after a very hard day's work that left my PC running hot for over 12 hours, the fan now makes an intermittent crunch, which frankly bothers me. The fan has been humming very steadily to this day, and now, while it's relatively quiet now, the grinding/scratching noise isn't the comfortable high-pitched hum of a powerful CPU fan. Hopefully reinstalling/removing dest from my computer will fix this issue. It's also worth mentioning that I bought another fan for my mother's computer and was able to return it with no problem. I think the fan was defective. FOLLOW-UP/UPDATE*** Disassembling the fan and carefully attaching the fan blades finally eliminated the annoying grinding noise. Usually CPU fans have some kind of locking mechanism that keeps the fan alignment in place. This is held in place with a magnet and I think my hard downward pressure may have affected the alignment. There's no clicking or anything like greasing your fan, in case anyone cares. I'm wondering if the magnetic mount is more prone to misalignment due to its design? I will update if this is an issue. Sounds like grumbling but to be honest I am very happy with this product. It's easy and blows a lot more air than my old fan (even though it was new).
