To be clear, I paid $5 for this item. I've never held an official Apple case in my hands, so I can't say if it's better. I know I would never pay $80 for a case with this design - not that there's anything wrong with the design. It's like perfect. He is skinny. It protects the device from scratches when it is in the pocket. Acts as a stand. And as a bonus, the magnetic mount means that if you just want to hold an empty iPad, you can do so without removing the case. Obviously, there's a trade-off in drop protection. To do this, you need some rubber covering the entire device. But if you just want to cover the front and back while carrying it around, it's a lot thinner and less bulky than those cases. It's as well built as any plastic case I've used. The magnets hold very well. The stand functions work great. That's exactly what it should be. I would be happy with it at full price with no discount.
