I was hoping this would be an addition to my laptop for alphanumeric input. To enter numbers, you must turn on Num Lock ("clear" on the numeric keypad). Then when I had to type the words I had to turn it off because my keyboard also had Num Lock on and that happened by accident. Not very suitable for data entry where I need to switch from letters to numbers quickly. The lack of arrows, home, page up, and page down markers on the numeric keypad led me to believe it was purely a numeric keypad. Maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist. I just need a numeric keypad for my laptop that doesn't need a num lock key. Although it's a very beautiful thing.
