I have a 2004 Dodge RAM 1500 with a towing capacity of over 8500lbs - but if you add the recommended 10-15% to the hitch it sits on the rear axle. So the rear springs on these trucks are way too soft. Install Monroe Coil Over Springs and they will finally do what the doc says. We're towing a 6000 pound trailer. The work is easy now, Hemi guides it easily. The ride is good, empty, I don't think the rear axle feels any different. It is highly recommended to unlock a full workshop slot from the truck.
