Review on 🔌 Mean Well LRS-200-12 Switching Power Supply, Single Output, 12V, 17A, 200W, Compact Size: 8.5 x 4.5 x 1.2 inches by Travis Karren

**Update 04/20/20* It's been 6 years and this power supply is still great! I've never had a single problem with it and the lack of a fan is the best part because it runs silently. I originally bought a cheaper Chinese PSU that had a fan that would grow and shrink depending on the load. Very annoying. As it is used to power the LED strips in my bedroom, noise is a big deal to me. I've heard a lot of good things about the Mean Well name, but thought I was unlucky to find a 200W fanless PSU until I saw this one. I'm currently using around 12m of 5050 RGBW tape with it and it hardly gets hot and it's completely silent too. It doesn't even hum or whistle or anything like some of the cheaper switching power supplies. It's also nice that it's in a thinner form factor, which wasn't important for my application, it would make it easier to fit in a case. Which brings me to my only downside: since it's designed to be built into some sort of enclosure, the screw terminals are fairly exposed and can pose an electrical hazard if you simply leave them open. It's not that difficult to put it in a suitcase. But I'm having trouble finding one that doesn't cost three times what the stock cost me. I think I just have to get creative.
