Review on VKO Shutter Release Compatible Fujifilm by Chris Sanders

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Big! Cheaper, safer and just as functional as other brands!

These shutter buttons, listed by Revain as "(2 pcs) Dark Red Brass Soft Metal Shutter Button for Fujifilm Fuji. Camera 11mm concave 10mm convex surface” and sold by VKO Photography Haven't seen a secure release button yet. Whether you use a concave or convex button, they make it much easier to find the shutter button by touch (without having to take your eyes off the viewfinder or fumbling around to find the button). Rubber O-rings, these buttons also stay in place much better than any other brand I've tried over the years (Neewer etc.). This is important as most of these bolted triggers are notorious for gradually loosening and becoming lost. Therefore, I also recommend not spending a lot of money on such buttons. Luckily, this $8 two-piece set is also one of the most affordable options at Revain ($4 per knob), giving you the freedom to choose which convex or concave knob feels or looks best on your particular camera. I really can't say for sure if they are actually made of brass as advertised, they seem strong enough for their purpose and the glossy lacquered finish seems to be holding up well with no signs of fading or chipping after thousands of shots. The finish isn't as perfectly smooth as some of the slightly more expensive and slightly better finished versions, but they look good on my Fuji X-T2 camera. (For some reason, a concave knob fits the camera's overall aesthetic better than a convex one. That's what I currently use.) Check the knob regularly for leaks. So far I have never noticed that the button has come loose. It seems to stay in place well, which I attribute to the effectiveness of the o-ring providing the extra "friction" to hold the knob securely and prevent it from gradually turning and loosening. Based on this experience I would definitely buy them again if I needed more. They're more affordable, just as functional, and more secure than similar products I've tried that cost twice as much. Camera. I'm really impressed with how well the o-ring and/or thread design keeps it in place as I've used several other brands and have never been able to work that long without it coming loose and usually being lost entirely. I've even stopped obsessively checking for leaks as after hundreds of checks and lots of use it just stays in place as it should with no blue Loctite or other 'hacks'. Hooray! I definitely recommend them not only as the cheapest but also as the safest triggers I've ever tried!]
