My 7 year old is by no means a big kid, he's actually quite skinny with skinny legs. The velcro over the ankle is definitely not long enough. So while it closes well when the shoe isn't on, it's difficult to get these parts to stay down as you run and jump if you put a child's foot in with a sock. which of course is all the time for a 7 year old boy. Cute shoes love the style love the colors even the price is not too outrageous. but I really wanted the top to stay connected instead of being open all day.
