These 7 cup containers are perfect for preparing large meals for the rest of the week and then portioning out leftovers as another reviewer mentioned. Even when cooking for one or two people, you can save a lot of money and time by cooking from stock once a week and refrigerating or freezing the rest. I prefer these Rubbermaid containers over other brands for the durability, price, and lack of complicated resealable lids to catch food debris. With my camp club card, Foodsaver vacuum sealer, and these containers, I can eat homemade food any day of the week. In terms of microwave safety, they certainly are safe, but be aware that they will wear out faster with each microwave cycle. The same applies to the dishwasher. These 7-cup containers are especially handy for large multi-person salad bowls that come in packages that never close properly once opened. Another good use is for snack foods like cheese flakes, goldfish crackers, and warehouse club croutons. If I had to highlight one thing I use them for the most, it would be chicken wings, which are cooked in bulk. Cooking spices etc for only 10-12 wings is useless exercise. Making 40-50 at a time and using these containers has made my wings a lot more economical. They also seal very tightly, keeping my salads and fruit free from the smell and taste of garlic pepper wings. 5 Stars.
