Review on πŸ›οΈ Waterproof Zippered Queen Plastic Mattress Protector - Heavy Duty, Noiseless Encasement Cover by Blissford by Jamie Hyatt

Easier to install with two people

Purchased for a baby mattress with double memory foam for protection against accidental nighttime mishaps. I was a little nervous about the installation after reading the reviews but all went well. Attach the mattress at the short end, then place the cover over it and gently slide it down. Much easier when my wife came and helped so each of us could take our side. I was careful not to stick my fingers in during the grip, although the material appeared to be quite strong; as an insert for a shower curtain. He was almost stuck. To zip up, he clenched his teeth and I pulled the zip a few inches, then he adjusted the handle and we repeated. No breaks so far. There was definitely an odor coming from the vinyl, but it was gone by the time we put it on the mattress; Air out a little and you should be fine (again like a shower curtain liner). Let's see how this thing behaves. Hope it doesn't get too hot. No sound when I lay on the bed and moved a little. I'll report back after testing it for a while. UPDATE: The toddler didn't even seem to notice the change in his bed, so that's a plus. He was in an accident and I was very impressed when I removed the top sheet and his old (leaky and useless) mattress pad: the vinyl had soaked all the urine into the bedding and not the mattress. The vinyl itself was bone dry and only smelled faintly of urine. I wiped it off with a paper towel and some Windex and boom, the smell was gone. This is much easier than cleaning a mattress with a steam cleaner. I just hope this thing lasts a long time.
