Lulu weighs 16 pounds, a dachshund. I've tried her in slings and my back hurts after a few minutes. In a backpack we can go on the longer walks her German Shepherd brother demands without me having to whine about wanting to go home. She likes to stick her head out to look and I don't get the feeling that she's insecure. The bag itself is well made and durable, and a lot easier to manage than a stroller (it's a mess when you have a baby, a dog stroller, a chihuahua, and a German shepherd at the same time). Super happy with the purchase.
