Review on Voigtlander 42.5mm f/0.95 Nokton Lens - High-Performance 42.5mm Lens by Quinton Wonsley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Incredible lens... sharpness takes practice

Excellent bokeh at T0.95. Be sure to bring a good neutral density filter. This is manual focus only, so you'll have to do a little work to get your main subject in focus. The focus ring has enough resistance to help you with this, and it goes a long way in getting fine adjustments. The structure is almost entirely made of steel. Hard and not in a bad way. Very high quality design. This makes it a very good lens for interviews in combination with a good MFT camera body. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is that our device somehow ended up in a sealed lens case. Took it to local camera shop and they agreed this was the reason for our unstoppable "flash of light" on all of our shots. The only way for the manufacturer to remove the dust is to take it apart. No other lens in our studio has this problem. No filters or polarizers could fix it. Unfortunately we used a different lens for our production.
