This is my favorite lens of all the mirrorless lenses

Probably my favorite of all Voigtlander lenses. Incredibly sharp wide-angle aperture, fantastic focus and it really compliments something like the GH5 or Pocket 4k without the need for a fast amp or adapter. The corner sharpness is fantastic, the center sharpness is magical and the bokeh is very soft and clean.

I LOVE this lens. the best lenses

So you know the phrase "you get what you pay for”? This is largely true of this lens. I hated paying a shocking $799 for this lens, but I've heard so many great things about it being the best M43 portrait lens out there. So I took it, expecting disappointment and a return. That didn't happen. This lens is incredible. If you're a fan of shallow depth of field/bokeh, this is your dream lens. At f/0.95 the depth of field is about 2.5 cm - incredible! I'm so glad I bought this lens and I'm sure it…

Such an amazing lens

Bought a few months ago, I also have a Voigtlander Nokton 17.5mm. I shoot exclusively with the Olympus Pen F. I'm new to manual focus lenses - as long as you have focus peaking it's very easy to use. I have a 1 year old that I photograph with ease and who moves quickly. I really like the depth of field and the color rendering - the photos almost look "surreal". The lens has a weight that takes some getting used to. This lens seems built to last. If you're hesitating between 17.5mm and 42.5mm, I

Panasonic GH4 Nokton 42.2mm

Using this lens on a Panasonic GH4 4K is absolutely worth every penny. Some people complain that it's too expensive. But I've shot a lot with Red and Zeiss lenses, C300s with Canon Cinema lenses and these Nokton lenses on the Panasonic GH4 are just as good if not better. I would lean towards the best. And that in 8-bit 4K. So I know all other cameras with big price tags would be blown up if I shot 10-bit 4K. In comparison, it is still a lot cheaper than Canon cinema lenses, Ziess or other PL…

Pro videographer - love this lens

This (and all Voiglander Nokton M4/3 lenses are amazing. From day one of use I don't want to use any other lenses for video. The image is much more cinematic (slightly less contrast and video-y, as the Panasonic 35-100mm and Panasonic Leica 25mm I also have) a very flattering look with this lens. For video, f0.95 is pretty sharp and still manageable depth of field if you're within the range are I shoot weddings and commercials for a living and I love what this lens is doing for me. Focusing is…

These lenses are reason enough to use the Micro 4/3 format

The Voigtländer 42.5mm F/0.95 was the lens I looked forward to with childish longing. I've had experience with the 25mm Voigtländer but I'd say this version is even better. I immediately tested the F0.95 specs - sharper than my 25mm version and well sharp for F/0.95 - I was really impressed. Focusing at this aperture is a bit tricky, especially at close range of 1 meter. At medium distances, the F0.95 setting offers a nice selection of the subject. Magenta fringing is noticeable in certain…

Stunning lens with great bokeh

First of all, this lens is built like a tank. The all-metal body with lots of glass fits the rather heavy lens. It works well on the OM-D EM-1 and I've set the FN1 button to activate focus preview mode, making focusing this lens fast, easy and accurate, which is very important at F0.95! I found the edges of the lens to be a bit soft when it's fully open (F0.95) but that mostly disappears at F2.0 and at F4.0 it gets very sharp across the image. It works great with Olympus IBIS cameras, but you…

Incredible lens... sharpness takes practice

Excellent bokeh at T0.95. Be sure to bring a good neutral density filter. This is manual focus only, so you'll have to do a little work to get your main subject in focus. The focus ring has enough resistance to help you with this, and it goes a long way in getting fine adjustments. The structure is almost entirely made of steel. Hard and not in a bad way. Very high quality design. This makes it a very good lens for interviews in combination with a good MFT camera body. The only reason it…
