Should do the trick
I don't use it as a hairpin, I use it as a weaving accessory. This should work well as the prongs are straight and slightly rounded on the ends to avoid snagging and will not scratch your scalp or pinch hair when used on hair. Taking off a star for there being unsightly stains on one side of the hairpin handle which made it look used even though it was sealed in the packaging.
