Good for gaming, good for music

My current hobby is reviewing inexpensive (ie less than $50) headphones, but lately I've switched to more expensive headphones. They have some good and pleasant qualities. Pairing is very easy and I haven't had any issues with them crackling or dropping out. I don't usually check how far I can get from my phone, but the description mentions you can walk 50 feet. Okay, my house isn't that big and I was too lazy to go outside, but you can move at least 30 feet from your phone without turning it off. The instructions are in small print, but they are all like that. The instructions were easy to read (with readers) and were very clear. There were 2 sets in the box - one in English, the other in Japanese. Case/Battery - The case is small and plastic and fits easily in a pocket. Battery life is average for headphones. Comfort - quite comfortable. There are many different silicone tips but I didn't have to switch them - the medium one is just right for me. Control - when will everyone know that play/pause should be a tap? *sigh* Anyway, volume is a single tap, play/pause is a double tap, and a triple tap puts you into low-latency mode. The controls are sensitive enough that you don't have to worry about changing the volume just because your hair got caught in a bun. The switch from low latency to normal latency only has one sound, so you'll have to fiddle with it while watching the video to see which one you're in. The voices are not in sync. In low latency mode, it's great! I suspect that gamers will have no problem with that. There is a noticeable lag in normal mode, although it's not a bad thing. It's just annoying. I suspect that low latency will wear out the battery, otherwise why bother switching? The sound quality is where it confuses me. I had to pull out my very expensive headphones to see how they *were* supposed to sound because I knew something was wrong, but I couldn't figure out what it was. It was like each beat (treble, mid and bass) was well defined, but they didn't play well together. It was like missing the parts between the beats. It probably didn't make sense, but let's just say they're not really for listening to music. At least not in the sense of judging music. They sounded good when I streamed the video and listened to the audio play, but I think that's because things need to sound separate. TL; DR: I have mixed feelings about this. They are comfortable and work well. The sound is ok until you compare it with really good headphones. Latency is long when properly configured. If you are a music lover who needs to feel the nuances of your music, don't buy it. If you're a player who needs to hear footsteps as they pass so you can shoot zombies or whatever, fine.
