Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Saris Trainer Clutch Tightening Knob by Chris Smotherman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, easy to use.

I bought this to replace the "Quick Cam Lever" on my 2007 CycleOps Magneto Trainer. The cam lever tends to deform at the points of contact with the hard plastic sheet. I've been through a few now and don't even use the trainer that often. Glad to see they replaced that lever with this torque limiter knob. Works perfectly. It's easy to apply the correct pressure to the tire as it will click once the correct torque is achieved. This is a little tricky to install as you have to thread the L bracket through a slot in the plastic resistance plate and then to the locking rails on the machine's frame. For simplicity, I took the bike off the frame, unscrewed the handle from the L-bolt and let the plastic resistance plate sink to the bottom. I then installed the L shaped portion of the bolt onto the frame. I then rotated the resistance plate back into place and threaded the L-bolt through the slot in the plate. Once the bolt was through the slot I locked the resistance plate in place and screwed on the knob. Sounds complicated, sorry, but don't try to install an L-bolt with a handle attached. It will hurt if that's even possible.
