I have had a Sangean PR-D5 for 4 years. I liked the radio but it had some flaws. The PR-D15 is an updated version of the PR-D5 and I think Sangean did a great job of addressing these shortcomings. The new version has a carrying handle. It's huge. I've dropped my PR-D5 multiple times because it didn't have a handle. Can't believe this wasn't part of the original design. Another great upgrade is the onboard charger. I use rechargeable batteries and find it inconvenient to remove the batteries and charge them in a separate charger. With the PR-D15 this is no longer a problem. All you have to do is plug in the radio and the batteries in the radio will charge. The red indicator flashes while the batteries are charging and turns red when fully charged. The radio also has separate treble and bass controls so you can tailor the sound to your personal preferences. There is also a signal strength indicator on the LCD screen. The strength is shown in bars. Sangean also includes a fine tuning control. If you are trying to receive a distant station, you can adjust the slider in smaller increments to get a clear signal. The PR-D15 is more expensive than the PR-D5, but for upgrades I think it's definitely worth the extra money. All in all this is a fantastic radio and I would highly recommend it.
