It works well as a mirror, I also use it on my desk to work as it gives a very good pseudo all-round light as my desk is very dimly lit although I really wish it would , it could be a little brighter. Unfortunately, when using the USB port, the lights go out and no longer come on. I know the mirror is powered because my phone keeps charging even when the light is off. After unplugging the USB plug, I was able to turn the light back on. I'm not sure if this is a rare defect or if this is an issue that several people have experienced.
