We recently remodeled our kitchen removing the old wired under cabinet lighting which took up about a third of the interior space of one of our cabinets and only provided direct light over the sink. I replaced that lamp with this one. They're lighter, they look better because they're totally invisible unless you're craning your neck under a cupboard, and they're easy to cut and put back together so I was able to route them under all the tall cabinets. I also hooked it up to a proximity sensor so we could leave it on and have the counter light up when we approached it, rather than having to manually turn the main kitchen light on and off when we just needed a drink or something. The power supply for it also takes up much less space inside the housing than the old lamp. These strips in particular are covered with a rubber coating that makes them waterproof. It's a bit more difficult to connect the different segments as you have to cut the rubber where the pads are, but it's a small issue that you only have to deal with once.
