Review on 🖨️ Brother MFC-J995DW INKvestmentTank: Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer with Mobile Device, Duplex Printing, and 1-Year Ink Supply by Alejandro White

This printer on 10/18. ordered and on 18.10. Installed. The installation instructions ask you to shake the black cartridge 15 times (total) before installation. When I did this, some of the black ink powder from the cartridge got on my shoes, foot and carpet making cleaning very difficult if not impossible. At the moment I'm giving it 3 stars because the installation was pretty easy if you have previous experience installing a Brother printer. My previous Brother printer lasted almost 6 years with minimal to moderate use before the printheads were removed so I guess it's not that bad and after delving into automatic duplex inkjet printers it turned out that that offers the best value for money. I requested a new black ink cartridge from Brother. We'll have to wait and see how they react. Update: Brother agreed to replace the black cartridge which is good news. I tried to get the touchscreen scanning function to work and after an hour on the phone with Brother customer service they said it was an Apple issue (on my I Mac for example). I called Apple and after an hour on the phone with them I finally figured out the problem. Difficult to solve. The setup software for the scanner feature, which allows using the touchscreen on the printer, is not intuitive on a Mac for an idle user. Be aware of this issue. Updated 02/27/20. After using this printer for about 14 months, I found that the printheads would clog overnight and the printer usually had to clean them almost daily. This leads to downtime and excessive ink waste. I have now downgraded (not buying) this printer. Brother support walked me through a "technical" attempt to clean printheads that only took about a day. New Brother ink cartridges do not help. My only option now is to send it back, pay all shipping costs both ways (under the terms of the Brother warranty) and go a few weeks without a printer. Not the best option and I will not be buying another Brothers printer based on this experience.
