see AMENDED NOTES BELOW. It caused plantar fasciitis before I put a good gel insert in it. I have no idea what a reviewer said about being too tight. What to Expect It's nice and wide, almost too wide. Very hard insole. Very good lanes. Nice look, got a few compliments on the look (colors mainly, bought light gray with pink and orange accents). I think it looks a little clunky, but not that bad. I wore it to work (doctor's coat, goes well with it). I've walked the trail twice, once without a liner and once with one. Without a pad, my legs hurt a lot the next day and I could hardly walk. With gel inserts it's ok, but not outstanding. (Since July 2018 I have walked the path in them 5-6 times and hurt my feet EVERY TIME). My Trail 7 version of the same shoe was MUCH better. I will add top stars if and only if they no longer cause plantar fasciitis. But trail shoes shouldn't HAVE that much pain. However, the gel pads weren't overly expensive, and if that's the only flaw then they probably deserve higher stars. The time will show. CM. UNDER. Edited July 21, 2018 I have severe plantar fasciitis. While shoes aren't entirely to blame (I have other issues that cause this), these shoes make the problem worse. My old, old Saucony Trail 8s feel better than these 11s even with compressed EVA and a totally worn out outsole. I've tried several insoles and none. Nothing works. So I lost my money. I will never buy online again. There are no shoes. One Star - GENEROUS. this is given because they look good. One final note: In July 2018 I bought FIVE pairs of a non-Saucony brand to replace. So far, Brooks is the only brand that feels really good. Brooks are expensive but I've looked at a few in the Brooks line and they seem to be of a much better quality. AHNU is another brand that comes highly recommended, but personally I haven't found one that I like that much. I would love to see how Saucony reacts to me as 11 of them seem to have taken my little foot problem and literally made it 5 times worse. For anyone trying to recover from a foot problem, I recommend the exercise program known as Egoscue. While I literally loved eights, it hurts so bad right now that I EXTREMELY don't want to buy a Saucony again. . It's a shame because the 8s were so good.
