This is almost perfect for our families needs. We have Australorps which lay a medium to large egg and Silky Bantams which lay a small egg (important when discussing the only negative).Key features that we love:- it is sturdy, both in the way it sits on the counter and the build quality- the egg holder spins. This allows you to rotate it to get the "entrance" & "exit" where you want it. This feature allowed us to put it in a tighter location (about 1 inch of clearance above the unit) and still get the eggs in and out.- it holds plenty of eggs in a tight spaceNegatives-it is designed for larger eggs. This means that when our small eggs get to the bottom they can fall out. This could be fixed by extending the slide to be closer to the stop at the bottomOur workaround is to always ensure we have a large egg at the bottom. If the next egg is a small silky one we grab it instead, we repeat this until the next egg is another Australorp egg. I didn't deduct any stars because we knew this was designed for larger eggs when we bought it. I thought others might be interested in that solution.
