I make my own curd so temperature control is critical. The bottom of the first glass flew off quite badly when washed in 130F soapy water, cutting open the inside of the thumb knuckle. The bottom of the second glass broke completely as it stood in the center of the water bath and heated the chilled milk to 90°F _very slowly_. In the second case, I didn't know the floor. completely cracked when I carefully lifted it out of the steamer and took about four hours to clear the milk from the stovetop, countertop, cutlery tray, walls, boots, boots, floor, etc. I was really hoping for 1 gallon jar. which could safely handle warm water, but now I'm a little shocked and rather hesitant to use the other two.
