First off don't think you are getting a good deal with the "free" mouse pad. a folded paper towel would be sturdier and work better. The stand itself is a solid piece of plastic can't mess that up much.too bad can't say the same thing for their rubber strips so it doesn't slide around. They fit so loose its a fun trick trying to hold them on while trying to get the stand down without them falling off. And please don't push up on the stand you will push right out of the strips and get to start all over trying to hold them on while setting down the stand. Do yourself the favor grab a different brand
