Definitely prevents sliding of stairs, especially on the roof.
Pros: I felt a lot safer working with this under my rooftop stairs. He's doing his job. Cons: Smells like tar and it's ok if the ladder doesn't fly out. I would recommend it to anyone concerned about stair safety and we all should be concerned.
