Review on Galaxy Cleaning Towels 18 Pack GT18 by Jennifer Schreier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've been looking for her for 35 years!

Oh, how the right tool for the job can turn ordinary, unnecessary tasks almost into pleasure! I believe this fabric is "birds eye" cotton and they look just like the "baby diapers" I used years ago. They have survived their original purpose well and have been used as cleaning and polishing cloths, painting and decorative cloths, kitchen towels and napkins for many years. When they finally wore out, the disposable diaper market was at its peak and I couldn't find them anywhere. The younger saleswomen had no idea what I was even asking for! While birdseye cotton seems to be making a comeback for new moms now, all the diapers I've found made from this cotton fabric seem to be pre-pleated with a thick, layered center. Instead, they're a single, even layer that's better used as a towel (and more versatile for a variety of folding patterns than diapers). All but a few (still very useable) in the package I received were cut to the same size and shape and are all lined very well. While I remembered the good absorbency, lint-free and durability of this fabric, I forgot how easily stains and dirt washed out. On closer inspection the weave is truly ingenious, as the tightly woven, alternating tufts of long and therefore strong and low-linting threads are long enough to trap particles when soaked in the water - and loose enough to allow for further swing. Water frees them. Now I understand why I've never settled for terry cloth and other fabrics for some purposes - they just can't work that way. I'm so glad I found her.
