It seems to have all the problems of the TB15 plus just a poorly designed docking station. USB sound card stuck on ASMedia USB hub. The simple fact that Dell took a lightning-fast protocol and decided to limit everything to USB 3 speeds is bad. That they chose to do this via a pathetic USB chipset that can't even reach USB 3 speeds is even worse. This means that if you do a lot of network transfers when something is plugged into the USB port, you will see a drop in throughput. This also means multiple USB hubs are used within the dock to connect everything within the dock, with ports on the front and back of the dock. This means that if for some reason you REALLY need to connect a USB hub/active extension to it, you'll likely see even worse USB performance since USB 3 only have 4 (or maybe 5?) hubs in one device target. Shortcut. To be honest I was glad when it died a month after I received it. Replaced it with a Startech Thunderbolt 3 Dock and I've been a lot happier. No accidental USB/Ethernet/Sound disconnect, the ethernet controller is actually on the PCIe lane of the Thunderbolt chip and I can actually use any USB device with it as it doesn't use a poorly designed USB controller.
