Thin material but woven very tightly so it filters well (and an insertable filter can be inserted between layers of fabric. However, as many others have noted on Levi's website and elsewhere here the "large" masks are small. The photo shows the actual vertical size is 5.5" not 6.5" as stated in the specs. I have other masks with a built in chin bar that have the same vertical dimension, so this isn't uncommon, but the Levi's mask doesn't have nose bridge wires, so the mask won't stay on your nose or under your chin if you try to speak while wearing the wire Blindstitching The strap simply goes through the two ends of the mask, so if you prefer to tie the tie on top of your head around your neck, you can de-align s strap or replace the elastic ear loops (the ear loop version can be purchased directly from the Levi's website). Instead of tying, get a "cord lock" switch (many sellers on Amazon; I have colored knots from Sgt.). However, it's a very tight fit on single hole models (you'll need a thin metal tool to push both zip ties through), but it's possible (see photo). It's easier if you get a model with two holes, or find a model with a larger hole (I used a 7mm width). It is much more convenient to pull it tight around the neck than to tie it, and re-tightening after the mask has been worn for a while (or slightly tightening/loosening if necessary) is inevitable.
