This was the first 'serious' security camera I bought and I was very disappointed in it. It has a good look and mechanical feel, but it doesn't work properly. The app doesn't work well. You have to pay $8 per month to use their cloud service. The motion detector doesn't work well and a couple of times it missed important things that were critical and they just didn't record at all, I was very disappointed! The Wansview app doesn't work well, I've tried it on several Android devices. When you log in it just sits there and says it's been trying to connect for a few minutes and may not connect at all! If it connects when you try to watch the current video stream, it lags and crashes the worst I've ever seen! It's a piece of junk, like every other inexpensive camera I've tried. Cameras in this price range all seem to be unreliable junk. The video stream pauses and stops for a minute and then only plays for 2 seconds and then stops again. This is with an indoor camera next to the router. The recorded video playback function is difficult to use, very inconvenient, not easy to use, and does not work properly. Very very disappointed but I wouldn't say unexpected. I will try to return.
