Review on Renewed JBL Quantum 600 - Wireless Over-Ear Performance Gaming Headset in Black by Ayden Loh ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are disadvantages, but the product is usable.

The software necessary for the full use of the headset has to be installed both on the computer and the firmware for the headphones itself. In general, it is understandable, the equalizer is quite minimalistic. Switching between surround and stereo modes is done in the application on the computer. I can’t say anything about the quality of the microphone, because. I rarely use it, it's better to look at headset reviews on YouTube, there are sound examples. Surround sound in DTS Headphone: X v2.0 or JBL Quantum Surround mode is noticeably different from each other, both when watching movies and in games. Separately, I note in JBL Quantum Surround very strong and pronounced high frequencies and some kind of “empty hall” effect, the sound is artificial and unpleasant (subjectively), I don’t use it. As a result, I did not notice any significant advantages, except for a slightly more acceptable quality of music playback in stereo mode and a higher playback volume compared to my old Logitech G930. The JBL Quantum 600 is a good product, but not outstanding in its price range. You can take it, but it's worth looking at and comparing with models from other manufacturers.

Pros
  • - Appearance is quite concise and stylish - A wonderful adjustment wheel on the left "ear", depending on its position, allows you to set the priority of the volume of the sound of the game or the volume of the audio chat - The wireless connection is quite stable, the signal rarely disappears even at a distance of 8-10 meters through 2 walls, but on condition that the USB "whistle" of the wireless adapter is placed not very low, but higher (in my case 1.5 meters). - I'm not an audiophile, for me, in general, the sound is very clear, high-quality, pleasant in stereo mode when listening to any music (except bass, but about them later .), the playback volume is basically enough. - The presence of two surround sound modes, which make the main value of the headset: both provide sound in 7.1 format.
Cons
  • - First things first, at the time of writing this review, bass in stereo is. just mediocre, but don't get me wrong, it's there and it's quite acceptable, but it's not what you'd expect when you have very good sounding of other frequencies in such a headset. There is a noticeable lack of depth and richness, the basses are very soft and subjectively deaf. And in the surround sound mode, the bass is definitely felt better. I would like to ask design engineers, what kind of unfortunate misunderstanding? - The overall volume control wheel is located a little lower than the other wheel that controls the priority of the volume of the audio chat in relation to the volume of the game sound, which, accordingly, at least until you get used to their location, will often lead to an error in choosing one of them when the headset is on and you have to rely to the touch. - Despite the pleasant softness of the ear pads, with prolonged use, you notice a feeling of light and almost imperceptible discomfort, if you pay attention to the fit of the headset. The ear pads themselves cannot be said to be large and perhaps not suitable for all ear sizes, especially if the latter are outstanding for you))
