I removed the chip from the HP cartridge and installed it according to the instructions. The printer still read the cartridges as empty and Word did not print to the printer due to the ink warning. I sent them back with no problems and got a refund. So if you want to save money on the cartridge, you can try it. They will refund your money if it doesn't work.
