The size is slightly larger than stated!
We ordered a large size for my son who wears a size 10/12 for boys. It's definitely more than he says. However, since I travel from North Carolina to Virginia or New York every year, we need something warm. This coat has WEIGHT. It's definitely made for winter and can keep your boy warm in the bitter cold. My son only wore it once and when I took it off it was nice and warm.
