I have several different HDMI component adapters because some devices don't use HDMI. One such device I have is the SlingBox and I use this converter to convert my HDMI cable box to RCA component output. At first the installation didn't display any image, so the button to change the resolution had to be pressed several times until a good image came out. Otherwise this device works well. I like that it comes with an AC adapter because the other model I had didn't have one. While most people probably have a USB power adapter, it doesn't always have the right power output, and it's good to have the right one.
